AMDeC serves its membership and the broader biomedical research community through programs that foster collaboration among researchers from New York State's world-renowned medical institutions.  The emphasis that AMDeC puts on academic collaboration is evident in our pioneering efforts at inter-institutional team science, the convening of scientific focus groups that share best practices and develop common research standards, and its history of building commonly accessible core scientific resources for its member institutions.

AMDeC is dedicated to providing its members with a number of cost effective and time saving services that are enabled through the consortium.  Our innovative programs and initiatives foster the sharing of ideas, capabilities, and resources, while trimming costs and driving progress toward medical breakthroughs and next generation discoveries.

1. The increasingly important role of data requires significant investments in sophisticated new technologies as well as access to very large and diverse population samples.
2. While clinical studies are more expensive than ever, financial resources are increasingly more constrained.

4. Collaborations among medical institutions and between the public and private sectors are increasingly recognized as vital to realizing the promise of biomedical research.

AMDeC convenes the regions' best minds in biomedical research in order to identify and serve the collective needs of New York's rich array of biomedical research and academic medical institutions.  Founded on progressive principles, AMDeC continues to create building blocks to next generation applications of research data and knowledge, and stands ready to expand infrastructure to serve our members and the biomedical research community in New York.
