Microarray Resource Center
Accelerating Progress in Genomics Research
AMDeC’s Microarray Resource Center (MRC) was established to improve patient care by using gene expression technology to help scientists detect, identify, sequence and understand the structure and function of genes that play a role in complex diseases.
Managed by 17 AMDeC institutions, the MRC supports scientists employing gene expression technologies to study the molecular mechanisms of disease as a function of developing diagnostics and therapeutic regimens. It produces and analyzes gene expression data, develops protocols and technologies, and assists member institutions in developing the capacity to facilitate large-scale basic science and clinical studies.
The MRC has reduced technological redundancy in New York State, lowered processing costs by hundreds of thousands of dollars, and standardized technological approaches. Users benefit from an extensive selection of reagents at discounted prices, access to member core facilities, and the archiving of data and biological materials, all of which allow for faster and better science at the institutional level.
